1.      Background
English colonized Indonesia for 5 years. during colonize, the English tried to investigate the origin of modern Indonesia from the Netherlands who has been reworded Dutch. these sources have considerable influence in a documentary about the varied activities of the British in Indonesia provide valuable information about the country and its people during the early phases of Western expansion into Southeast Asia. therefore, our group will discuss about the source of modern Indonesia is the source of the English colonization explanation at that time.
2.      Problem of Study :
a.       What information obtained by the Indonesian students in the source of modern Indonesian history of documentary material english?
b.      How the process of finding information about it?
3.      Sources
Furthermore, during the letter part of the Napoleonic warst they controlled virtually the whole of Indonesia, and even after 1824, when the Treaty of London obliged them to with draw from West Sumatra, they continued to have commercial dealings with the northern and eastern parts of that island by way of Penang and Singapore.
Because of the long domination of Indonesia by the Netherlands it is too often assumed that the printed and documentary sources relating to modern Indonesia history are all in the Dutch language. It is of course true that, when considered against the vast Dutch literature.
So, the Netherlands only give little attention to such information. However, the presence of a British documentary manuscript, then Indonesian students can learn about the history of Indonesia. Although slight, the information is very useful for Indonesian students in gaining insight into the early phases of Western expansion into Southeast Asia.

Office Library: This essay is concerned only with works by British and American scholars, although occasional reference is made to studies published in english by other nationals. English studies relating to British Borneo and to the old period of indonesian history are also excluded from consideration. The essay was written in 1958 and therefore takes no account of recently published books and articles.
